Cape May Light Scores a Bronze!
We’ve got some awesome news to share! Last week, Cape May Light took home a Bronze Medal at the 2025 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) — hosted by the Brewers Association® — and we couldn’t be more excited!
Our light lager was recognized in the American-Style Lager category. If you haven’t tried it yet, Cape May Light is our 4.2% ABV lager that’s clean and crisp without sacrificing flavor — and at just 99 calories and 3 carbs, it’s the perfect easy drinker.
Winning a GABF medal is a huge honor and no easy feat. This marks our third GABF award for a seasonal beer! Our Honey Porter earned bronze for Brown Porter back in 2019, and Oktoberfest snagged bronze for Vienna-Style Lager in 2023.
GABF medals are among the most prestigious honors in brewing, recognized worldwide as symbols of excellence. This year, judges awarded medals across 99 beer categories and 150 styles, so to earn one feels pretty special.
“It’s a great honor to win a medal at the GABF,” says Brewery Operations Manager Chris Vaughn. “The judges are professionals in the industry, so in a way, it’s recognition from your peers. It’s not just an award. It’s validation for the countless hours, hard work, and attention to detail that go into making a beer you love.”
“Beyond the immediate thrill of winning, a medal brings pride and credibility within the industry and gives our whole team a huge morale boost,” Vaughn adds. “From the brewing and lab teams ensuring quality, to the packaging crew and warehouse team handling the final product with care, it shows that every step was done with pride. Winning a medal is powerful affirmation that our team has created one of the best beers in the nation.”

Awards were announced on Saturday, October 11, 2025, during a ceremony at the Bellco Theatre in Denver, livestreamed via The Brewing Network. The festival brought together beer lovers and pros from all over the world to celebrate the craft we love.
The competition itself is no small thing-- with 250 expert judges, 300+ volunteers, and more than 8,000 entries from 2,000 breweries representing all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
As Chris Williams, competition director for the Brewers Association, put it, “Year after year, the Great American Beer Festival sets the bar for American brewing. With 347 winners this year, these medals honor the talent, dedication, and creativity of our nation’s brewers and cidermakers. Congratulations to all 2025 GABF medalists!”
