Job Summary: As the Tasting Room General Manager at New Jersey’s largest craft brewery, you’ll champion our Core Values to cultivate a vibrant work culture. You’ll drive sales and profitability, staying attuned to industry shifts, while developing strategies to meet business goals. Primary Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Uphold the Company’s Core Values and foster a positive and constructive work environment.
- Lead and inspire the Tasting Room and Brewtique team members, promoting a culture that prioritizes exceptional guest experiences.
- Engage with staff, guests, and other stakeholders to foster an emotional connection to our brand.
Sales & Profitability
- Drive sales and profitability by staying ahead of industry trends and adapting accordingly to changes in trends, regulations, etc.
Strategy & Business Metrics
- Develop strategies and translate them into specific priorities, objectives, and action plans.
- Understand and drive appropriate business and financial metrics to assess business performance.
- Regularly report to senior management on the performance of the Tasting Room including sales, customer feedback, and staff performance.
Collaboration
- Work closely with key stakeholders and leaders to ensure synergy between the Tasting Room and other departments.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote the Tasting Room and Brewtique including any special events, promotional activities, etc.
Communication & Team Building
- Demonstrate effective communication skills across all levels, even under pressure.
- Proven ability to develop and lead a team that drives results and creates a positive work environment.
Training & Development
- Coordinate with the Tasting Room leadership team to maximize education and training for all team members.
Collaborate with the People Operations team to drive the recruitment, retention, and development of team members.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Inventory & Scheduling
- Ensure supplies and merchandise are ordered in a timely manner to maximize profits and capitalize on key selling times.
- Maintain clear and complete schedules for the Tasting Room team at least two (2) weeks in advance.
Compliance & Policies
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Uphold and enforce all company policies as outlined in the Cape May Brewing Co. Employee Handbook.
Make It Better
- Strive for constant improvement by seeking ways to make processes and procedures better, safer, faster, and/or more cost-effective.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older.
- College degree preferred; prior relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Three (3) to five (5) years in a hospitality-specific leadership role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using calculators, computers, and phones.
