Seasonal Barback
Cape May, NJ
As a seasonal Barback you will be responsible for ensuring that the bar area and Taproom are running smoothly, with all the supplies the Beertenders need to provide a superb customer experience.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead by example in upholding the Company’s Core Values and promoting a positive and constructive working environment
- Stock the keg cooler
- Change kegs
- Collecting dirty glassware
- Wash/stock glassware and monitor inventory of glassware
- Assist Beertenders with closing tickets and collect payment using the POS system
- Following the company’s cash handling policy at all times
- Assist with opening the taproom and or closing duties
- Cleaning the taproom/lavatories
- Clean trash/debris in taproom, exterior of building, walk-in cooler, etc.
- Periodically clean beer lines
- Attend and represent Cape May Brewing Company at special/promotional events
- Participate in training programs
- Perform job duties in a safe and responsible manner
- Work as a team with all coworkers
- Perform other tasks assigned by Taproom Manager/Beertenders as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Clean criminal background history
Special Requirements:
- Must have a solid working knowledge of beer and brewing or a strong desire to learn about the brewing process
- Passionate about craft beer
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Standing for long periods of time
- Squatting, crouching, bending, kneeling, twisting
- Repetitive movements
- Lifting to 60 lbs. unassisted and up to 160 lbs. assisted
- Manually manipulating glassware
- Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Regularly required to reach with arms and hands
- Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls
- Required to talk and to hear
- Occasionally required to climb and balance
- Working individually and as a team
- Working under time pressure
- Encountering frequent interruptions
- Using effective verbal communication
Environmental Conditions:
- Working in hot and cold temperatures
- Working on uneven surfaces and wet conditions
- Handling hazardous chemicals
