Seasonal Barback

Cape May, NJ

As a seasonal Barback you will be responsible for ensuring that the bar area and Taproom are running smoothly, with all the supplies the Beertenders need to provide a superb customer experience. 

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Lead by example in upholding the Company’s Core Values and promoting a positive and constructive working environment
  • Stock the keg cooler
  • Change kegs 
  • Collecting dirty glassware
  • Wash/stock glassware and monitor inventory of glassware 
  • Assist Beertenders with closing tickets and collect payment using the POS system
  • Following the company’s cash handling policy at all times
  • Assist with opening the taproom and or closing duties
  • Cleaning the taproom/lavatories
  • Clean trash/debris in taproom, exterior of building, walk-in cooler, etc.
  • Periodically clean beer lines
  • Attend and represent Cape May Brewing Company at special/promotional events
  • Participate in training programs
  • Perform job duties in a safe and responsible manner
  • Work as a team with all coworkers
  • Perform other tasks assigned by Taproom Manager/Beertenders as needed 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • None 

 

Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Clean criminal background history 

 

Special Requirements:  

  • Must have a solid working knowledge of beer and brewing or a strong desire to learn about the brewing process
  • Passionate about craft beer 

 

Physical and Mental Requirements: 

  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Squatting, crouching, bending, kneeling, twisting
  • Repetitive movements
  • Lifting to 60 lbs. unassisted and up to 160 lbs. assisted
  • Manually manipulating glassware
  • Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Regularly required to reach with arms and hands
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls
  • Required to talk and to hear
  • Occasionally required to climb and balance
  • Working individually and as a team
  • Working under time pressure
  • Encountering frequent interruptions
  • Using effective verbal communication 

 

Environmental Conditions: 

  • Working in hot and cold temperatures
  • Working on uneven surfaces and wet conditions
  • Handling hazardous chemicals
