Procurement Manager

Cape May, New Jersey

The Procurement Manager is responsible for partnering and collaborating with various departments including the CEO & Co-founder, production, maintenance, shipping & receiving, team members and our finance department as well as suppliers. Procurement Manager has a variety of duties which include the procurement of raw materials, machinery, repair parts, manufacturing supplies, office supplies, equipment, etc. This is a Full-time, exempt position with a Monday through Friday schedule.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily tasks associated with material forecasting, sourcing, planning, and purchasing of various goods and services and related purchase orders.
  • Ability to work invoice discrepancies and communicate directly with internal departments.
  • Manage assigned parts and commodities through stages of planning, buying, receiving, and inspection to meet production requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with core suppliers.
  • Purchasing of raw materials, supplies, and services to optimize price, quality, and on-time delivery in support of the manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in keeping the production schedule current.
  • Reconcile purchase orders.
  • Obtain and review order confirmations and shipping documents of all purchase orders for accuracy and communicate discrepancies to suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate cost of raw materials and supplies and update computer database.
  • Monitors and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Recommend process improvements and facilitate changes as agreed to.
  • Ability to monitor inventories in multiple locations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary to fulfill responsibilities of the position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of EKOS, Bill.com and Divvy a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, time management, and critical thinking skills necessary.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Primary office environment may be a warehouse/distribution setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, grasp, handle, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, bend, and type and or/write.
  • Ability to use a calculator, computer, phone.
  • High mental and visual attention required for planning challenging work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Work area includes both outdoor and indoor.
  • May work in high places.
  • Work area may be in warm and cold climates.
  • Work on wet surfaces.
  • Exposure to loud noise, fumes, and/or chemicals.
  • Must wear safety equipment, as necessary.
