Packaging Operator

Our Packaging Operators are the behind-the-scenes magicians who are responsible for making sure our brews get packaged and out the door for our fans to enjoy. In 2011, Cape May Brewing Co. helped put New Jersey on the map for craft beer and has offered refreshing brews as one of the largest and most acclaimed craft breweries in the region ever since. From our humble beginnings hand-delivering the first keg of Cape May IPA to a local beach bar to the hundreds of accounts offering cans and drafts of our brews throughout New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, Cape May Brewing Co. is where the brews are.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation
    • Operate kegging and canning equipment, including fillers, depalletizers, carton/tray builders, pallet wrappers, labelers, and conveyors.
    • Ensure proper start-up and shut-down of utilities and machinery.
    • Apply Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sanitize-in-Place (SIP) principles for equipment cleaning.
  • Packaging Efficiency
    • Maintain line efficiency by managing the supply of empty packaging materials and removing full packaging.
    • Monitor cooperage quality and promptly address any issues.
    • Ensure accurate coding and labeling of containers.
  • Maintenance and Records
    • Perform routine daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
    • Address product quality issues promptly and stop the packaging line if necessary.
    • Maintain accurate packaging logs and records.
  • Delivering top-tier customer service to internal team members as well as external stakeholders who you will regularly interact with.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Work Environment
    • Keep the work area clean and organized, including regular cleaning of equipment and work areas.
    • Lead by example in upholding the company’s Core Values and fostering a positive working environment.
    • Deliver top-tier customer service to internal team members as well as external stakeholders who you may interact with.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Monitor and adjust carbonation and dissolved oxygen levels.
    • Uphold product quality standards and proactively notify the appropriate parties of any potential quality issues.
  • Logistics Support
    • Operate pallet jacks as needed for the movement of packaging materials.
    • Assist with accepting deliveries and other miscellaneous warehousing tasks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Be willing to assist in other areas of the brewery as needed to support our efforts to Make It Better.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Physical ability to handle and maneuver 30lb cases and 165lb kegs.
  • Proficiency in using calculators, computers, and phones.
  • High level of mental and visual attention is required for planning and executing complex work methods and sequences.

Tasting Room Team

The Tasting Room team consistently goes above and beyond to be Good Neighbors whether it’s with one another internally or with external folks. Our Tasting Room team excels at creating programming in the name of supporting our community whether it’s in the form of a monthly Pint Night to raise money for local organizations or organizing our yearly food drive to support the local food banks, this crew knows how to show up and show out.

As the backbone of our maintenance operations, Rich and Rob form an unstoppable duo, tirelessly managing the lion’s share of our preventative maintenance and repairs across multiple buildings and facilities. Whether they’re fine-tuning complex machinery, upgrading equipment, or simply ensuring proper lighting, their dedication ensures that our teams can function in safe environments without worry.
